Sunday 4th March 2012 thought is was gunna be a wash out but no, the sun come out and it was perfect. The run4ryan project day was upon us and all hands on deck.
As like last year, we could not run the day on the footy ground so we had to have it in the car park. Jason and his family arrived and Jason was full of smiles. They could not believe how many people who did not know Jason had come out to support him.
Shae and Emma got there with their families and enjoyed the day too. My day started at about 6.30 am and I thought how many people would turn up. We had about 15 bikes by about 7.30 and I was really pleased. We ended up with about 35 bikes taking part by about 8 am when the ride started. It was great to see them take off behind the fire truck. Then we had the 10km and the 3km which started about 9.30 -10am. I led them off down the drive.
Then we had the entertainment from 11am. By the time everyone got back it looked like a big fair. We had the auctions for all the memorabilia and the raffle's and the prizes for the runs. Overall it was a great day.
I would like to thank firstly Scott Trezise for all his great work (again) - he is a bloody legend. The Riddell Bombers for the bar, the Riddell's Creek Hotel for the bbq, the Cricket club for the canteen. Thank you to Lauren Jans for all her help on the day and the weeks leading up to the event. A big thank you to all the volunteers for their help and support on the day - to name a couple - Josh Bull, Lynn Fandrich, Gaz Clemson and Hondo.
